Core Tip: In the factory of Badoit, part of the Danone group, ACMI projected and constructed a highly flexible bottling line for glass bottles.
The line reacheBadoit s a maximum filling speed equal to 32.000 bottles per hour and can handle bottles of 25, 33, 50, 75, 100 cl, both one way or returnable bottles, packing the products in cartons and crates. The Rasar D200 depalletiser receives the pallets containing empty bottles at the infeed of the line and then depalletises them at a high unloading level. The version installed is equipped with an independent centering device and with the robot SCARA which has the task of handling the overturned trays, interlayers and pallets.

Another machine installed which deserves a mention is the Condor robot that has the task of inserting in cartons, or crates, the bottles arriving from the line. As far as the one way glass is concerned (25- 50- 100 cl), the robot has been equipped with a "double" gripping head capables of guaranteeing a maximum cartoning speed of 40.000 bottles per hour. The changeover of the gripping head can be carried out in an automatic way. The palletisation could not have been awarded to anything but the Twisterbox®.

On the Badoit line, the continuous layer formation is coupled with the Condor palletiser. This precise technical choice was dictated by the necessity of palletising with the same machine both cartons containing bottles along with plastic crates. The Twisterbox is equipped with two modules and is capable of handling both formats with the same efficiency and pass from one format to another simply by means of the operators panel. In conclusion, this highly automated bottling line is able to switch from the management of returnable glass to that of non returnable glass in a rather limited period of time, and is able to handle a large amount of formats with high production efficiency.
