The Cabinet has approved the proposal of the Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Environment, the draft amendment to the Law of the State Maritime Fishing, with the aim of promoting a number of key priorities for the Spanish fisheries policy.
The reform aims to improve the socio-economic situation of the fisheries and aquaculture sector, through the recognition of equality of opportunity and treatment between men and women, as well as enhancing their economic diversification.
The project also represents a decisive step forward in the fight against illegal fishing and the legal framework was significantly strengthened.
