Brown-Forman announced the winners of its annual “Road to 150” program for May – December. In the year 2020, the company will be 150 years old and the award continues to mark the progress forward by distributor partners. This year’s event was held on March 18th at the Grand Del Mar Resort in San Diego, California. These national awards recognize one large (Heavyweight) market and one mid-sized (Middleweight) market distributor partner. They are based on business performance measures encompassing volume attainment goals, distribution criteria, market activities, and other brand-building efforts spanning the time period.

Based on their performance and brand-building efforts on behalf of Brown-Forman brands, the Middleweight award was presented to Horizon Beverage of Rhode Island and Republic National Distributing Company of Texas was named Brown-Forman’s Heavyweight Distributor of the Year.

“The success of our brands at Brown-Forman result from key elements such as long-term partnerships,” said Johnny Manuel, vice President and Director of Field Sales. “Because of their great success in the marketplace, we are proud to name Horizon Beverage of Rhode Island and Republic National Distributing Company of Texas as our Middleweight and Heavyweight champions for this highly critical period.”

During their celebratory trip, and for the second year running, the group of almost 200 people also invested time in giving back to the local community by dividing into multiple work groups. Collectively, they were able to contribute their time and efforts to two Habitat for Humanity projects, The West Encanto Boys and Girls Club, as well as the Include Autism Center of San Diego.
