American alcoholic beverage producer Brown-Forman has unveiled new Jack Daniel Cooperage in Trinity, Alabama.
The move is in line with the company's strategy to meet the increasing consumer demand for Jack Daniel's Tennessee Whiskey, which is made using the fine grains, pure, iron-free spring water and charcoal.
The new cooperage produces American white oak barrels that are toasted and charred for maturing the Tennessee Whiskey, when fully operational.
It is currently producing 400 barrels daily and is expected to increase the number to around 700 barrels in the coming weeks.
Brown-Forman Jack Daniel senior vice president, managing director John Hayes said that the American whiskey category is booming with exports of Tennessee Whiskey and bourbon totaling $1bn for the first time in 2013.
"We want to be able to satisfy the world's thirst for our premium Tennessee Whiskey, and having this state-of-the-art cooperage will help us meet that demand. We couldn't be happier with this new facility and the great welcome we've received from the people of Alabama," added Hayes.
Jack Daniel Cooperage will employ more than 200 people.
