Tilda is proud to be supporting the United Nations World Food Programme for the third year running with a limited edition pack of Tilda Pure Basmati.
The UK’s Basmati brand will be donating one meal to mothers and mothers-to-be in Bangladesh for every pack of Tilda Pure Basmati sold.
Pop singer and TV presenter Jamelia, will be fronting the Tilda Mums Helping Mums campaign in 2014.
As ambassador for the campaign Jamelia will be showcasing her own classic Mums Helping Mums meal – with a Jamaican twist.
Low birth weight can seriously affect a babies’ physical and cognitive development, so it is essential that they receive vital nutrition from the start.
Through its ‘Mums Helping Mums’ campaign, Tilda has donated more than 925,000 nourishing meals to the World Food Programme, helping thousands of mothers to give their unborn children the best start in life.
This year with the support of Jamelia, Tilda aims to help thousands more.
For each specially marked 1kg pack of Pure Basmati sold, Tilda will provide one nutritious meal to a new or expectant mum.
All consumers have to do is look out for the silver label and World Food Programme logo on packs of Tilda Pure Basmati, which will be available in stores from the beginning of March to April 2014.
Jamelia said: “As a mum of two this campaign is extremely close to my heart. I know first hand how important it is to ensure that you are providing your children with all the essential vitamins and nutrients to ensure they grow up healthy and strong.
“For many mums around the world the means to do this are not readily available; that is why I am really proud to be supporting the Tilda Mums Helping Mums campaign and helping to provide nutritious meals to expectant mums in need.”
