American canned and packaged seafood company EcoFish announced a partnership with the Monterey Bay Aquarium’s Seafood Watch program.
Both companies were created in 1999, and have collaborated unofficially for years. The 23 April announcement represents the groups formalizing their partnership.
“We’re excited to have EcoFish as an official business partner,” said Shawn Cronin, Seafood Watch’s business outreach manager. “EcoFish is a sustainable seafood pioneer, and has made a significant commitment to seafood exclusively from environmentally sustainable fisheries.”
As a business partner for Seafood Watch, EcoFish pledged to sell only environmentally responsible seafood.
“We’re supporting healthy, abundant oceans by partnering with the Monterey Bay Aquarium Seafood Watch program, and formalizing our commitment to source only environmentally responsible seafood,” said Henry Lovejoy, president and founder of EcoFish. “This is a commitment every seafood company in North America should be making, to assure plentiful fish stocks for future generations.”
