Turkey eggs in incubators on April 1 declined 2 percent to 27.2 million eggs compared to a year ago, the US Department of Agriculture's National Agricultural Statistics Service. Eggs in incubators climbed 4 percent from the March 1 total of 26.0 million eggs.
Poults hatched during March totaled 22.4 million, up 2 percent from a year ago, while poults hatched were 4 percent higher compared to February's total of 21.5 million poults, according to NASS.
NASS reported that net poults placed for meat production gained 3 percent to 22.0 million poults. Net placements were 5 percent higher from the February total of 20.9 million.
