Scottish Sea Farms has awarded a contract in excess of GBP 1 million (USD 1.7 million, EUR 1.2 million) to a net manufacturing firm.
The company plans to work with W&J Knox, an Ayrshire, U.K.-based business on maintenance and supply of new nets for its sites in Scotland as the Scottish Sea Farms looks to expand its operations.
“We have a long standing relationship with W&J Knox and it is good to know that we are supporting independent Scottish businesses like this,” said Jim Gallagher, managing director of Scottish Sea Farms. “We have been spending in excess of GBP 1 million with this business for the past few years and are happy with both the quality of the product and the levels of customer service we receive.”
Scottish Sea Farms spent GBP 700,000 (USD 1.2 million, EUR 850,701) in 2010, GBP 1 million in 2011 and GBP 1.5 million (USD 2.5 million, EUR 1.8 million) in 2012 and 2013 with the Ayrshire net company.
