Chase Distillert has unveiled two new products in it’s portfolio.
Chateau Constantin in Provence, recently purchased by Chase Distillery owner William and his wife Kate, is located just minutes from the quaint picturesque village of Lourmarin, and is best described in Peter Mayle’s ‘A Year In Provence’.
The winemaking starts in the vineyards, which extend over almost 20Ha, and are covered in ‘vieille vignes’, or ‘old vines’.
Planted during the 1960′s, the domaine produces exquisite wines from unique terroirs and an exceptional climate.
From gravel based river plains to the icy ‘mistral’ wind; each part of the Provence process culminates in the production of the wine.
After a 24hr cold maceration period the wine expresses aromas of white peach, combined with a steely minerality, drawn together with a well directed length on the palate.
It has a degree of complexity after several months ageing on the fine lees, concentrating the delicate flavours and aromas.
The 2013 Williams Chase Rosé is a blend of Grenache (60%), Syrah (30%) and Rousanne (10%).
Picked in early September, missing the heavy rain that occurred during the late harvest period, the grapes avoided any rot, resulting in balanced levels of acidity, imparting crisp refreshing qualities.
Presented in a minimalistic bottle, and sealed with a glass closure, the design is unique on the market.
Williams Chase Rosé has an alcohol content of 13%, with an RRP from £13.50 for 750ml (available direct from Chase Distillery and from Harvey Nichols and independent wine merchants such as Richard Dawes Fine Wines, No. 8 Wine Company and George Hill of Loughborough).
Chase Summer Fruit Cup is the second new addition to the range.
Chase Summer Fruit Cup has a unique flavour that aims to set it apart from other fruit cups on the market.
Hints of ginger, rosemary and thyme are added to give it a grown-up and sophisticated flavour.
Chase start by heating their Original Vodka in their hand-crafted copper gin still, passing it through a blend of 17 botanicals to infuse all the flavours found in the Summer Fruit Cup.
Along with the wild botanicals, Chase combine a blend of elderflowers and locally sourced raspberries and blackcurrants, which are added in different proportions to the base spirit.
Chase recommend serving well iced with lemonade or ginger beer, fresh sprigs of mint, orange, a squeeze of lime and a variety of fresh summer berries.
