Ulma PacUlma Packagingkaging Ltd, one of the country’s leading suppliers of packaging machinery and complete automated lines, will be showcasing its latest high-speed flow-wrapper for the chocolate and confectionery sectors at the Interpack exhibition in Germany.

Designed for maintaining the texture and quality of chocolate, the robust FR 500 flow-wrapper is entirely electronic and includes a multi-axis control that synchronizes the main machine movements. It can comfortably wrap chocolate bars at up to 600 packs/min and is designed to be integrated in medium/high speed lines.

To demonstrate the exceptional qualities of the equipment, the FR 500 will be presented in an automated flow-wrapping line on Ulma’s impressive stand (C74) at the Dusseldorf Fairgrounds, along with a row distribution system, product buffering and recycling, product orientation and automatic indexing.

Sharing the spotlight with the FR 500 will be an array of Ulma’s extensive flow-wrapping, thermoforming and tray sealing range of equipment and automated lines, including the Artic Side Seal, Atlanta, TFS 400 thermoformer, TFS 500, TS 1000 tray sealer, TFS 407, TSA 680, VTC 700 vertical wrapper and VTI 540.

The Artic is state-of-the-art equipment suitable for a range of food, from cook-in-the-bag chicken to emerging new meat applications. The Artic will be using polyester film to make a totally hermetic sealed pillow pack and comes with complete modified atmosphere (MAP) for extended shelf life.

Another flow wrapper on display for the food sector will be the flexible Atlanta high speed biscuit packing, which has a laser cutting system for easy switching from one pack format to another. Its adaptability makes it suitable for many different sectors and applications.

On the tray sealing front, Ulma’s TS 1000 is sure to attract the attention of visitors with its high speed MAP packing of meat & poultry products and the VTC 700 high speed vertical wrapper, a packaging machine capable of speeds of up to 140 packs/min & adaptable to intermittent or continuous mode.

Demonstrating the company’s ability to supply many varied industry sectors with high quality packaging machinery will be the TFS 407 ‘’SKIN’’ hygienic thermoformer, specially designed for pharmaceutical packaging.

Ulma’s Managing Director, Chris Pickles, said: “We are looking forward to a successful show at Interpack. Visitors will see the strength of innovation from Ulma in thermoforming, flow-wrapping and automated in-line equipment. We are also excited about opportunities for the food industry presented by the versatile and high performance TSA 680 tray sealer.”

The company’s technical team will be on hand to discuss the high quality equipment that Ulma will have on display, providing further details of the biggest range of packaging solution choices available anywhere in the UK.
