The Afghanistan Chamber of Commerce and Industries (ACCI) have posted a 33 percent increase in Afghan exports during the year 2013.
Reduction in natural disasters and transit issues, growth in fruit harvest and introduction of Afghan products in European markets were the main reasons behind the growth in Afghan export.
ACCI Chief Mohammad Qurban Haqjo said the total amount of Afghanistan’s export during the year 2013 was $524m, while the total export in 2012 was $393m, according to Afghan News Agency (Khaama Press).
Haqjo further added that an increase was noted in exports of natural herbs, dry fruits, vegetables, carpet, cotton and precious stones. He said that the transit with the neighbouring countries has also been resolved to some extent.
