The Company, which is based in the South West, the home of cheddar cheese, already supplies a large number of British cheesemakers with corrugated transit boxes, shelf ready packaging as well as gift and presentation boxes.
Atlas is hoping that its presence at the event will help to raise its profile to an audience of some 200 British cheesemakers.
For the first time ever, the British Cheese Awards is to be held in the South West of England at the Bath & West Showground in Shepton Mallet and is to combine the National Cheese Awards, a cheese show which has featured at the Bath & West for several years. The joining forces of the two shows for 2014 has attracted significant attention across the industry, as well as close to 1,000 entries from cheesemakers spanning the whole of Britain and Ireland.
The packaging class, which is being sponsored by Atlas, has attracted several entries. Liam Beades, Business Development Manager at Atlas will be judging them and looking for innovation and slick design as well as functionality and ease of assembly. Commenting on the sponsorship, he said: ‘We are delighted to show our support to an industry which is really important to us from a business point of view but one which we really feel close to given our location’
The Awards take place on Tuesday 27 May, the day before the Bath & West Show opens to the general public, with the judging in the morning and the announcement of the winners at the Awards Dinner that evening.
