Core Tip: The flowpack machines of Hugo Beck offer new options for the familiar fin seam packaging.
The flowpack machinHugo Beckes of Hugo Beck offer new options for the familiar fin seam packaging. Especially in the food, cosmetic and pharmaceutical industry flexibility, air tight packaging and cost effectiveness is most important.

In connection with the know-how of servo-controlled packaging technology the manufacturer of special purpose machines in Dettingen/Erms Germany will, amongst others, exhibit a flowpack machine for air tight packaging of pharmaceutical products with many features.

Flowpack machines are mainly used for products which require an especially high air tight and stable packaging as for example in the food, medicine and pharmaceutical industry. In these sectors nearly all the products are packed with the characteristic fin seams of flowpackaging. Hugo Beck has specialised itself on customer specific solutions and the product infeed resp. take-over from upstream equipment. An example is the development of a system for unwinding neutral electrodes with subsequent cutting unit for flowpacking the electrodes both individually or in stacks of 10 pieces.

As a matter of course printed films of all kinds, the integration of labelling units, aeration devices for modified atmosphere (MAP) solutions as well as applicators for the feeding of desiccation bags and oxygen absorbers from the reel or as bulk goods belong to our daily business.

Standard solutions are not sustainable

The solution which was presented during Interpack is a flowpack X-D machine with continuous packaging operation (box-motion of the cross sealing), as well as longitudinal sealing from below, which is suitable for the clean room where it is in fact in operation. The products are fed by a Hugo Beck friction feeder onto the finger chain where they are combined with a product insert. The products are then air tight packed in pre-printed OPP film. A further possibility is to add an inert gas and to print the expiry date onto the film. The air tightness of flowpacked products can then be checked on the exhibition stand.
