Core Tip: Food and drink packaging manufacturer TRM Packaging has now announced a £1m upgrade to its corrugator, part of its £8m investment plan
The upgrade to TRM’s on-TRMsite BHS corrugator will see its width increased from 2.5m to 2.8m, along with the installation of latest generation reel stands and splicers and the provision for the future production of F flute microflute.

TRM said enhancing the capabilities of the corrugator will increase the output capacity of its factory, provide more flexibility for customers and allow the use of lighter and new technology papers.

The future capability to run F flute complements the company’s £3.2m investment in a 7-colour Gopfert High Quality Print press in 2013 and will enhance the print results being achieved on the printer.

Mike Introna, production director at TRM, said the investment will customer’s to lightweight their packaging, delivering environmental and commercial benefits.

“The capability to produce F flute microflute board with high quality print also aligns well with the increasing demand from our customers for smaller RRP and counter top display packs. Upgrading this machinery underlines TRM’s commitment to delivering the very best quality products to both existing and potential clients.”

TRM Packaging announced a multi-million pound expansion plan in April.
