Norfolk based company ‘The Meat Merchants’ is launching a range of four new meat snacks specifically targeted at the on-trade.
Old school friends and business partners Danny Searle and Sean Cannon were enjoying a pint in one of Searle’s pubs when they spotted a gap in the market for a premium snack which not only marries well with beers, ales and lagers, but also provides a premium add on sale in a pub and bar environment.
The four new snacks include:
Chorizo bombs – bite sized mini chorizos spiced with paprika and chilli.
Snacking beef – moist jerky style beef
Hot Snacking beef – moist jerky style beef with a chilli kick
Salami bombs – bite sized mini continental style salami with garlic and pepper
Each has a recommended retail of £2.50 (cost is £1.42), and has an ambient shelf life of three months.
There are 25 packets in a case.
The new launch follows on from an initial trial of eight pubs in Norwich, which was so successful that Searle and Cannon have invested in rolling out nationwide.
Danny Searle said:
“We felt that drinkers were looking for something a little more interesting than the usual bog standard crisps, nuts and pork scratchings.
“Because our range is so packed with flavour, and are a great snack, we feel that these could be the next wave of premium snacking for pubs and bars.”
The Meat Merchants range will be available for direct sale.
