Bell Farms announced the initial release of its farm-raised trout into the market with availability through local and national distributors, retail grocery and restaurants.
Bell Farms, situated on family owned farmland in rural Indiana, originally used to harvest corn, is now home to the largest land-based indoor containment aquaculture farm in the USA. Until recently the 1000 metric ton facility has exclusively raised Yellow Perch but has recently expanded operations into Rainbow Trout and Coho Salmon.
Bell Farms is the implementation of extensive research, development and knowledge created by the team at Bell Aquaculture with unprecedented dedication and investment into the vision of a vertically integrated, sustainable, land-based, contained fish farm.
"The release of our first Rainbow Trout onto the market through Marsh Supermarket marks a huge milestone in the progress we have made," said Bell President & CEO Norman McCowan. "The exceptional skill and dedication of our team has resulted in a great tasting, healthy product that we are exceptionally proud to have available in this local, high-quality supermarket."
