Metallic gloss, pearlescent glimmer and other special effects help to distinguish packaging of consumer goods, creating an emotional appeal und making them more attractive. With its wide portfolio of effect pigments and inks, ECKART presented a multitude of creative possibilities to brand owners and designers as well as to the graphic arts and plastics industry at Interpack 2014.
Apart from esthetic advantages ECKART products stand out because of economic reasons. This is true for ECKART's metallic inks in particular. Since they can be applied precisely to the desired spot, metallized substrates become redundant. Producers of PS Labels for instance benefit threefold by using these inks: Processes become more efficient, production materials can be used optimally, and waste is reduced.
Food manufacturers are on the safe side with ECKART's METALSTAR FPG Series, a family of low migration metallic pigments, specially designed to comply with the strict EU legislation for food packaging. Produced under GMP conditions, these pigments can be printed on packaging made of cardboard or paper, e.g. chocolate boxes. Their formulation follows the guidelines of the European Printing Association (EuPIA).
Graphic Arts Portfolio
Products for the graphic arts industry include MIRRORGOLD and FERRICON pigments. They create mirror-like gold and metallic grey to metallic black effects, respectively. PRISMASTAR inks cause a chrome-like metallic effect with a simultaneous rainbow shade. JETFLUID Metallic Inkjet inks are designed for digital UV and solvent based printing in particular and can be applied to paper, textiles, leather, and wood. They create eye catching effects without using metallized substrates.
Plastics Portfolio
ECKART offers two types of pearlescent pigments to be used for mass tinting plastics: LUXAN and SYMIC. SYMIC pigments are based on synthetic mica. Their impressive sparkling effects exceed natural mica's brilliance values considerably. With their high color purity and depth, they are perfectly suited for application in cosmetic packaging.
LUXAN for a consistent brand appearance
Made of artificial glass, LUXAN pearl glass pigments create exceptional optical effects, based on three-dimensional light reflection and brilliance. They can be used for printing applications as well as for mass tinting plastics, ensuring a consistent brand appearance of consumer goods.
