Core Tip: Kingspan Protective Packaging (KPP) specialises in custom moulded and pre-cut packaging solutions manufactured from either EPS (expanded polystyrene) or EPP (expanded polypropylene).
Kingspan ProtKingspan Protective Packagingective Packaging, specialist provider of moulded and cut packaging for multiple market sectors, is making its debut in Great Britain with the appointment of a new packaging division sales manager, Sanjit Dosanjh, and the launch of a fresh new website and marketing campaign.

Kingspan Protective Packaging (KPP) specialises in custom moulded and pre-cut packaging solutions manufactured from either EPS (expanded polystyrene) or EPP (expanded polypropylene). EPS packaging is particularly popular in the pharmaceutical sector where its thermal properties, coupled with cooling gel packs, VIPs (Vacuum Insulated Panels), are invaluable for the transportation of temperature-sensitive medical supplies. EPP is a more rigid but still extremely lightweight product that is used extensively in the automotive sector, not just for transporting delicate items, but also helping to reduce vehicle weight as a bumper, seat or dashboard component. Both EPS and EPP are full recyclable.

Sanjit Dosanjh explained: “Protective packaging plays a huge part in Britain’s multi-billion pound transit and manufacturing sectors. Kingspan, with its proven ethos of providing sustainable, insulated products to core UK and global businesses, is in the perfect position to extend its offering to the British packaging sector with a range of off-the-shelf and tailored EPS and EPP solutions.”

The €1.8bn Kingspan Group, formed in 1965 and a leading provider of a range of sustainable products for the construction industry, has over three decades’ experience in developing insulated products for multiple industries. In 2013 Kingspan was named as one of Britain’s strongest Business Superbrands in an independent survey carried out by The Centre for Brand Analysis (TCBA).

Springvale EPS Northern Ireland and Aerobord EPS Ltd Republic of Ireland joined the Kingspan Group under the Kingspan Protective Packaging brand in 2011. The company is already established as Ireland’s leading manufacturer of fully recyclable custom moulded and pre-cut thermal containers.

Sanjit Dosanjh has over 13 years’ experience in packaging and engineering solutions, working with blue chip companies in automotive, defence and offshore sectors. Mr Dosanjh has been involved in a number of packaging innovations, including developments in injection and rotational moulded cases, and is perfectly placed to raise KPP’s profile in Great Britain.

Mr Dosanjh added: “KPP has a great pedigree - a highly experienced and innovative technical team, unrivalled expertise in insulated products and long-standing customer relationships in both the Republic and Northern Ireland. We’re ideally placed to develop new partnerships with British businesses, helping with the design and testing of custom-made packaging and moulded solutions to meet practically any requirement as well as providing off-the-shelf, proven products.

“As well as being fully recyclable, EPS and EPP both help to reduce packaging waste, cut down on fuel consumption and, more critically, reduce emissions. The unique bead structure ensures the packaging is durable and impact-resistant – and ideal for external storage or transfers as it repels moisture. Couple this with the backing of one of the most successful Groups in Western Europe, and you have a sure-fire opportunity for future innovation and development in British packaging.”
