US-based Firestone Walker Brewing is set to introduce new Berliner Weisse-inspired wheat beer.
The new Bretta Weisse is made with a combination of brettanomyces and lactobacillus and underwent secondary fermentation, the company claims.
Bottled at 4.9% abv, the beer has been aged for eight months in 1,700-gallon French oak foeders.
The company has produced only 350 cases of 500ml bottles, which will be available at Barrelworks event.
Additionally, Firestone Walker will launch 2014 Double DBA, which will be available for tasting and purchase at the event.
Barrelworks director Jeffers Richardson said, "Napoleon called Berliner Weisse the 'Champagne of the North,' but we'd like to think that Bretta Weisse would render him speechless."
