Nestlé Waters Canada announced that it has donated 5,200 bottles of water to the Canadian Red Cross, which will distribute them to those residents of British Columbia dealing with forest fires in the province.
About 432 cases of Nestlé Pure Life Natural Spring Water were delivered to the Canadian Red Cross in Kelowna today.
“The recent forest fires have forced evacuations and caused power interruptions to thousands of B.C. residents,” said Kimberley Nemrava, Canadian Red Cross B.C. – Yukon provincial director. “Distributing water – along with meeting other immediate needs – is an essential part of our response. Nestlé Waters Canada has been a great supporter of our disaster relief work here in Canada, and continues to do so with this donation in response to the forest fires in B.C.”
Nestlé Waters Canada has donated more than 1,000,000 bottles of water to Canadians in need across the country so far this year because of flooding, severe hydration challenges and/or temporary municipal infrastructure breakdown.
The Company regularly donates bottled water to municipalities and other organizations in need during local, provincial and national emergencies, largely through its relationship with the Canadian Red Cross.
Over the last decade, the Company has donated millions of bottles of water during floods in Alberta, Manitoba, New Brunswick, Nova Scotia and Saskatchewan, forest fires in British Columbia and northern Ontario and boil-water advisories and other potable water challenges across Canada.
