ProPak honours supporters at 20th edition of processing and packaging show in Shanghai

Shanghai, 28th July 2014 – ProPak China 2014 marked two decades of this processing and packaging technology trade show from 16-18 July 2014 at the Shanghai New International Expo Centre, recording the largest exhibition in the events 20 year history.  The exhibition was opened by Mr Shen Chi, Vice Chairman, China National Food Industry Association and other leading dignitaries from pharmaceutical; cosmetic; beverage; food; dairy; household and industrial products processing and packaging industries across China. A highlight of the show opening was a ceremony to acknowledge the long term support of 43 international and Chinese companies. Representing the best in their field for processing and packaging technology and long term supporters for ProPak China. A total of 670 companies from 24 countries participated at ProPak and China BevTek 2014.  These companies met 18,120 visitors over 3 days with 52% coming from overseas and outside of Shanghai.

ProPak China is unique, in that it is the only event in China to attract the participation of the National Packaging Trade Associations from the world’s leading technology producing nations plus pavilions of their top exporters.  Visitors to ProPak had the opportunity to meet representatives and member companies from VDMA, Germany; JPMA, Japan; KPMA, Korea; PPMA UK; PMMI, North America; TAMI, Taiwan Region; UCIMA, Italy and the Processing & Packaging (P+P) Italy and Adepta from France. The biggest pavilion this year was the PMMI, USA and Canadian pavilion, occupying over 462 square metres; the second largest was the German pavilion with 13 companies covering 321 square metre.

Exhibiting independently of country pavilions and occupying some for the biggest stands at the show were internationally recognized technology brands showcasing their latest innovations including BOSCH and WOLF from Germany; ANRITSU, FANUC, FUJI Machinery, ISHIDA, OMORI, OKURA, TOYOJIDOKI, YAMATO from Japan; RONCHI from Italy. “Strategic Partners of ProPak” and the country’s top technology manufacturers once again had a large presence at the show including Best Crown; Eiahe; Hualian; Macwell; Precise; Samwin; Soontrue; TCP Pioneer; Yuedong and Zhongya, while Yongsun occupied the largest stand at ProPak China this year with 613 sqm.

“We have met existing and future potential clients including Coca Cola; General Mills (Häagen-Dazs); COFCO; and Liby for household detergents, amongst others. This is our 8th time at ProPak China and we have booked our place already for ProPak China 2015”.

Confirming ProPak and China BevTek 2014 as an internationally recognized event, individual trade buyers and group delegations seeking processing and packaging technology attended from 72 countries. A total of 1,939 visitors came from overseas representing 11% of the total visitors. While international buyer delegations attended from Korea; India.

A new feature introduced by the show organiser this year, was the Social Networking ProPak China APP, allowing easy access to information on exhibitors and their products by visitors as they walked the halls. The APP also offers a function for visitors and exhibitors to organize “Do it yourself match making meetings”. Visitors may search for products they require, exchange name cards with potential suppliers and fix appointments to meet during and after the show.

Dates for ProPak China 2015 and China BevTek 2015 have been confirmed as 15-17 July 2015 at Shanghai New International Expo, Pudong. The organisers report that exhibitors, existing and new are rushing to book stands to secure priority locations and take advantage of the limited period Early Bird discounts.
