xported to Mexico from countries including Viet Nam must now comply with new quarantine regulations.According to the Mexican National Health Service, Food Safety and Quality (Senasica) under Mexico's Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock, Rural Development, Fisheries and Food (Sagarpa), the strict and new regulation of Mexico aims to reduce hygiene risks and ensure safety, reports VASEP.
Accordingly, Senasica will apply veterinary inspections on animal, plant, aquaculture and finfish products at any time or places in supplying countries.
All goods for export to Mexico must be packaged in new boxes, bags or packs without insects or germs inside. Labels on packs must match with the goods' information.
Furthermore, all packaged goods for export must be in containers and secured on export pallets. The containers must be cleaned without existing organic chemicals and have an installed cooling system.
At present, Vietnamese exporters are mainly exporting rice and pangasius to Mexico. The items are packaged in PP-polypropylene and PE – polyethylene and stored in cartons which are placed directly in containers without pallets, according to Ministry of Industry and Trade.
The Trade Office of the Embassy of Viet Nam in Mexico requests Vietnamese exporters to follow Mexico's new regulations and recalculate export prices owing to additional pallet costs.
