Coca-Cola plans to set up new bottling plant in Telangana, India

Hindustan Coca-Cola Beverages, the Coca-Cola’s largest bottling partner in India, is planning to set up a new INR10bn ($163.5m) bottling plant in the Telangana state of India.

The company expressed their plans to local government and sought land for the proposed project.

An official release stated: "Executive Vice President of the company (The Coca-Cola Company) and President, Bottling Investments, Irial Finan and the Chief Executive Officer of Hindustan Coca-Cola Beverages Pvt Ltd (HCCB), the company-owned bottler in India, T Krishnakumar, conveyed the proposal when they called on Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao at the Secretariat here."

Hindustan Coca-Cola Beverages is part of the Coca-Cola Company's Bottling Investments Group (BIG), which handles manufacturing, packaging, sale and distribution of beverages under the trademarks of The Coca-Cola Company.

BIG has more than 60,000 employees at operations spread across four continents in South America, Europe, Africa and Asia.
