Core Tip: On August 22, 2014, CFIA organizes an additional webinar session on the recently proposed changes to Canada’s food regulations.
Due to high demand, the Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA) will hold an additional Englishlanguage webinar focusing on information of interest to Small and Medium Enterprises on Friday August 22. Participants will be able to ask questions and receive responses in both English and French.

If you already participated in the webinars on August 13 or 14, please do not register again, as the same information will be presented.

CFIA’s webinar/consultation session will focus on A New Regulatory Framework for Federal Food Inspection: Overview of Proposed Regulations. This document provides an overview of the proposed regulatory framework, and an early look at the preliminary text for some key elements of the proposed regulations, such as licensing, traceability requirements and preventive control plans. The document builds on feedback collected during earlier rounds of consultations. Comments received by August 29, 2014 will be considered as the CFIA prepares to pre-publish the proposed regulations in Canada Gazette, Part I. At that time, stakeholders will be able to comment on the full set of proposed
regulations for 75 days.

In addition to providing information about the proposed regulatory framework, these webinars will also feature information regarding the "Safe Food Canada: The Learning Partnership" initiative. This initiative advocates for collaboration across the food sector in an effort to promote food safety learning, with industry, governments, academia and training providers all working together to identify competencies and establish standards for the design, development and delivery of training.
