The Washington State Liquor Control Board has approved the setting up of a startup, Chainline Brewing, in Kirkland, in the US state of Washington.

The approval was given in spite of complaints filed by the locals that the brewery may pose a threat to public safety, Brewbound reported.

People from the region initially raised objections to the location of the proposed brewery and tasting room, as intoxicated drivers may prove to be a danger in the area where children are present.

Chainline Brewing will begin construction on the proposed facility, which is expected to be open by the end of this year.

Chainline Brewing co-founder and owner Scott Holm told Brewbound: "Now we can focus on construction, which should hopefully start later this week.

"Communication about what the craft brewing industry is, is vitally important."
