Men may think they are masters of the grill, but a new study shows that women are more confident, adventurous, and creative when they're behind the burners. So sure, men can keep their long history of taking the lead when it comes to fire-cooked meats—we'll take the present and future.
According to research conducted by Applegate, women tend to turn out tastier grilled meats. Compared to just 59 percent of men, 73 percent of ladies season and marinate steaks, pork chops, and other cuts before laying them over the barbecue. Women are also more apt to experiment with new techniques (62 percent of women versus 50 percent of men) and more confident when it comes to crowd-pleasing during a large backyard barbecue.
Nevertheless, men remain twice as likely to be the primary griller in the family. With this newfound knowledge and Memorial Day around the corner, there's no better time for women to take control of the flames.
