LQNN recalls meat products in US over possible health risk

US-based LQNN is recalling nearly 213,192 pounds of chicken, beef and pork products as they were produced without the benefit of full inspection, according to the US Department of Agriculture’s (USDA) Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS).

 

The recall has been initiated after it was found that the recalled products were produced at the warehouse distributorship and had applied USDA marks of inspection without authorization, during a surveillance review by FSIS personnel.

LQNN, operating as Lee's Sandwiches, has been processing products from federally-inspected establishments and re-packaging them without the benefit of inspection.

The recalled products include 54,509lb of Banh Bao Pork & Egg Steamed Bun, 15,147lb of Banh Bao Trung Cut Pork & Quail Egg Steamed Bun Vietnamese Style, 55,114lb of Pork Pate Chaud (Large), 6,016.5lb of Pork Pate Chaud (Small), 50,036lb of Chicken Pate Chaud (Large), and 6,184.5lb of Chicken Pate Chaud (Small).

The recall also covers 22,812lb of Sliced Oil Browned Turkey Premium Breast Meat Fully Cooked, 2,453.5lb of Sliced Salami Meat with wine Fully Cooked, 222.25lb of 4oz plastic containers of Fruit Beef Jerky (Kho Bo), 352lb. of 4oz plastic containers of B.B.Q. Beef Jerky (Kho Bo), and 354lb of 4oz plastic containers of Curry Beef Jerky (Kho Bo).

It has been classified as Class I health hazard which means there is a reasonable probability that the product will cause serious, adverse health consequences or death on consumption.

No illnesses have been reported associated with the consumption of the recalled products.
