Based in the UK, Findus produces and markets a range of frozen food and seafood products.
Operationally decentralised into three regional clusters - the Nordics, the UK and Southern Europe, Findus employs around 6,000 people and generates more than £1bn in annual sales volume.
If these talks succeed, Nomad will acquire Findus' continental European business and its brands, Bloomberg reported.
However, the company said that the completion of the deal is not certain. Also the potential value of the deal has not been disclosed.
Earlier this month, Nomad completed the previously announced acquisition of frozen food company Iglo Foods from Permira Advisers for €2.6bn.
The combination of Iglo and Findus will create a major frozen food player, which will offer a wide range of products including fish fingers, peas and microwavable lasagna.
According to Bloomberg, Nomad raised $485m in initial public offering in April last year to fund acquisitions in the food and beverage industry.
William Ackman, through his hedge fund Pershing Square Capital Management, owns over 20% stake in Nomad.
