Wine Insights and Cumulus Wines, both based in Australia, have agreed to merge in an “all-share deal” to leverage synergies and take advantage of market opportunities.
The deal will see the merger of established brands such as Rolling and Climbing from Orange and Central Ranges, Moss Bros from Margaret River, The Riddoch Run from Coonawarra and multi-regional brands, Beelgara Estate and The Habitat.
The resulting entity will have combined gross revenue of over AUD20m across 27 markets.
But the deal will have no impact on the existing sales and distribution set-up or market or channel partnerships, the companies said, with each brand to be managed autonomously.
As cited in The Shout, Wine Insights' Peter Toohey said: "We are very excited to continue the evolution of our business through this merged entity.
"In a rapidly changing industry, companies must ensure they are profitable, relevant, efficient, and produce high quality wines. Most importantly, operations must be aligned to changing market conditions and consumer preferences. We believe the merger improves our ability to do so."
While Wine Insights provides third party winemaking, storage, bottling and brand development services, Cumulus Wines is said to be the largest producer in the Orange and Central Ranges of New South Wales.
