Striving to open new markets for Greek fruit exports, the Ministry of Productive Reconstruction, Environment and Energy, after coordinated efforts with the competent services, sent the necessary technical documents to the Chinese AQSIQ (General Administration of Quality Supervision, Inspection and Quarantine) to ensure the possibility of exporting four Greek fruits to China.
These fruits are grapes, plums, cherries and oranges.
After the completion of the procedures, the Chinese market may consequently open to these four fruits, thus following the footsteps of kiwis, whose export has been authorised by China since 2012.
There has been great interest in this market on the part of the exporters for a long time, but they faced technical issues which have already been overcome; thus the submission of this formal request to the Chinese Authority.
