Amazon is reportedly developing and piloting a new pick-up service program that will allow customers to collect their products from a designated Flex location.
The new Amazon Flex is currently being tested in Kirkland, Washington, where there is ' confidential' new Amazon facility, according to Geekwire.
Additionally, the e-commerce retailer is developing a crowdsourcing delivery service, which will employ a mobile app to allow non-postal workers to collect and deliver packages, according to The Wall Street Journal.
The Kirkland facility is also planning to launch Amazon's same-day delivery service Prime Now in the Seattle and Portland areas.
Earlier in July, the retailer launched a one-hour delivery service - Prime Now - for Prime members in some parts of London, with plans to launch across other cities in the UK by year-end.
Prime Now customers can now receive goods for delivery within one hour of ordering for £6.99. They can also opt for a free delivery within a choice of two-hour, same-day delivery slots between 8am and midnight, seven days a week.
