Pescafresh, the leading fresh seafood distribution and retailing company, and Norwegian Seafood Council (NSC) have partnered for a consumer research to recognise consumption of Salmon in India.
The Norwegian government conducted an extensive research on the Indian seafood market and had been attempting various methods to penetrate the market in order to bring Salmon to the mainstream food category. The council has decided to partner with Pescafresh to have an indepth analysis and research on Salmon consumption patterns among Indian consumers and study the potential of this market in India.
Speaking about the partnership, Sangram Sawant, founder and CEO, Pescafresh, said, “Pescafresh has been expanding the horizon of Seafood choices to the Indian consumers. Fish such as Atlantic Salmon from Norway have been one of our key products that seafood enthusiasts have loved. We are excited by this association with the Norwegian Seafood Council and this partnership is a testimony of our leadership in the fresh Indian seafood industry. ”
“Pescafresh has developed deep consumer insights and has proven a scalable business model that dwells on fresh, it is this success of the company’s products and services across various formats including modern retail makes us the only company in India to be able to understand the Indian seafood consumer.”
“As a company we rely on data, it is this data and a strong consumer brand connect that allows us to customise solutions to consumers especially in the home delivery proprietary format. This coupled with presence in major retailers expands the distribution reach and customer research opportunities that will be available to Norwegian Seafood Council through our brand pipeline.”
“We are delighted that Norwegian Seafood Council – Government of Norway has recognised our work and efforts over the years and engaged with our brand to understand indepth the market for Norwegian Seafood and allocate appropriate resources to develop brand “Norge.””
“This is a landmark engagement model for foreign countries to penetrate the Indian market, an unconventional approach which typically disrupts the way market research is conducted. The approach of engaging with real world companies who work on a direct basis with the consumer will surely mark a pioneering effort by Pescafresh and Norway. We are excited at Pescafresh to take this opportunity forward.”
