International Chefs Day, Nestle UK are running cookery workshops in schools to raise awareness of healthier lifestyles and healthy cooking amongst school children.

As part of Nestlé UK's Healthy Kids Programme, 90 students from Years 4 and 5 in Northowram Primary School in Halifax and Our Lady of Heaven School in Crawley will take part in fun, interactive cookery workshops led by chefs from Nestlé Professional. From blind tasting healthy snacks to selecting ingredients and cooking three recipes, students will be given myth busting lessons to promote healthier eating and to help maintain a balanced diet for the future.

The Nestlé Healthy Kids Programme forms part of Nestlé's Global commitment to improve nutrition through the promotion of greater awareness, knowledge and understanding of healthy eating and physical activity and their impact on health.

All children taking part in the workshops will receive recipe cards to take home and keep so that they can prepare the meals with their families.

Pupils at Our Lady of Heaven School in Crawley will also be joined by Brenda Smith, County Councilor for Langley Green and West Green who will also take part in the workshops.
