Bulgaria will soon launch the process to start exporting fruit and vegetables to China. This became clear at a meeting of the Deputy Minister of Agriculture, Vasil Grudev, with representatives of the General Administration of Quality Supervision, Inspection and Quarantine of the PRC in Beijing.

Besides the procedures for the export of fruits and vegetables, the discussions also involved the steps to be taken to authorise imports into China of Bulgarian milk, dairy products, pork and poultry.

"The goal is not only to gain a foothold in the Chinese market, but also for Bulgarian products to meet the consumer demands," said Grudev.

China's General Administration of Supervision informed that it is important for them to guarantee the quality and safety of the imports in a context in which Chinese consumers are increasingly demanding a wider variety of fresh products.
