The Ukrainian fresh produce price index has grown by 2.2% in the week from October 24th to 30th, after a rise of 61.6% over the previous four weeks.
"Greenhouse vegetables and potatoes made the largest contribution to an increase in the fresh produce price index last week," says Ms. Tetiana Getman, Head of Fruit-Inform. "At the same time, traditional vegetables became less expensive after a sharp rise in prices over the previous two weeks."
In regards to the fruit segment, prices changed insignificantly thanks to steady supply and demand balance. A decrease in prices was registered just in the segment of mandarins due to their growing supply. As a result, the fresh fruit price index went down by 3.4% week-on-week.
