The Fruit Exporters Association of Chile AG, ASOEX, celebrates its 80 years of existence with an activity involving high national and regional authorities, trade associations of workers, peasants and business, diplomatic representatives of friendly countries, and institutions of the United Nations.
Partners and staff of ASOEX, producers, exporters, as well as product and service providers, consultants, researchers and media, will attend the event.
"We will celebrate with the entire industry, as well as with the authorities and other organizations linked to the sector in the past 80 years as an Association. It has been a period in which we've had our challenges, but we have known how to address them in a timely manner via a strong public-private action. ASOEX was founded in 1935 with the goal of acting as a representative with the authorities to coordinate the process of exporting our fruits. Today, we represent 96 percent of the fresh fruit exported by our country, and 57.1 percent of Chile's fruit plantations," said Ronald Bown, president of ASOEX.
Bown added that the industry currently exports more than 2.6 million tons of fresh fruits to a wide range of destinations, such as the United States, Canada, Europe, Asia, Africa, and the Far East.
The Fruit Exporters Association of Chile AG (ASOEX) is a private, non-profit organization that was founded in 1935 and that has more than 350 producers-exporters of fresh fruit associated in its various programs. ASOEX is certified by the Quality Assurance ISO 9001 version 2008 and certified in Good Manufacturing Practices in the three phytosanitary inspection sites it administers, corresponding to the Cooperative Tripartite SAG-USDA / APHIS-ASOEX Management Program.
