The company Lexportia Bio was founded in Almeria in 2012. It currently consists of a team of young people with a common conviction in the need to promote a healthy lifestyle and respect for the environment. The owners are Torres Carmona and Luis del Olmo Llanos. Nils Angelike, who works in the firm's commercial department, is the Dutch contact person.
Exports to Europe
Lexportia Bio has been exporting certified organic products to its customers since 2015. "These products come from different parts of Spain and the Canary Islands. The range is wide and includes vegetables, fruits and exotics." The entire supply chain is coordinated by Lexportia Bio. "We also guarantee quality control from the field until it reaches the end customer. At the moment, we work with clients from the following countries: the Netherlands, Germany, Sweden, the UK, France, Belgium, Finland, Switzerland and Denmark. The main customers are supermarkets, wholesalers and specialty shops. Since the trade in Europe is going really well, we are now planning to soon start offering our products also in the North American market."
Affordable and accessible
"Lexportia Bio collaborates with producers and small businesses from Almeria and other growing areas across Spain. Thanks to transparent and effective cooperation, we have managed to win the trust of several customers in Europe." We deliver the right quality and at the same time we guarantee fair working conditions to our producers," explain the founders. "Our goal is to make organic products affordable and accessible for everyone."
Working closely with the producers
Lexportia Bio works closely with its growers. "The seed selection, the handling of the production, the development of new products and packaging, the arrangement of quality certificates and the management of the export regulations are some of the things that we do together." Furthermore, the products are sold internationally and we are in charge of the marketing, the ethical management and the transparent trading of their harvest, as well as, of course, the administration."
This year, the team was expanded to include multi-lingual staff. They are currently working on a Dutch version of the website.
