According to Dutch fresh produce news site, GFActueel.nl, The Greenery has sold NorthBank Growers to APS Salads. The Greenery had owned NorthBank Growers since 2012.
Last year, another large UK tomato grower, Cornerways Nursery, left The Greenery/Coforta by signing a five year agreement with Thanet Earth for the marketing of their produce.
A spokesperson of The Greenery said that the company is currently sourcing other local producers in the UK to serve the British market.
APS Salads is the UK's largest tomato grower. In 2015 they bought the Wight Salads Group, bringing the total acreage to 106 hectares, of which 46 hectares are composed of high tech greenhouses.
