After Chinese New Year, vegetable prices around Shandong Province are seeing decreases. Prices are facing further drops as weather conditions become more favourable.
Supplies are ample for chilli peppers, mushrooms, cucumbers, and tomatoes, at low prices. According to Ms. Dai, who has years of experience in vegetable retail, prices have dropped for two thirds of her thirty types of vegetable, with the average drop being around 30%.
With warmer weather and ample supply, vegetable prices are expected to correct to normalcy after the Chinese New Year holidays.
