In January 2016, compared to the same month of the previous year, average apple prices on wholesale markets were 42% higher; meanwhile, at horticultural cooperatives, they were 48 percent more expensive, and for exporting companies they were 52 percent higher, as reported by analysts of the Institute of Agricultural Economics and Food Economy.
For their part, processing plants devoted to the pressing of apples offered 20% higher prices than in January 2015.
Despite this positive development, the figures are not as good compared with December 2015. Compared to last month, apples in the wholesale markets have become 3% cheaper; at horticultural cooperatives prices dropped by 2 percent and exporting companies recorded 1 percent lower prices.
As for the price offered by processing plants for apples for pressing, a 37 percent drop was registered due to the lower demand for raw materials.
