During its grand opening on Friday 4 March 2016, Greenblend showed how versatile tomatoes can be as a product. Greenblend, started by Greenpack, in Maasdijk, is an initiative of the six shareholders who founded Greenpack: Agrocare, Belt-Kommer, Kesgro, Lans, Royal Pride Holland and CombiVliet. Together, they will work on processing tomatoes into a high quality blend, suitable as a raw material for further processing.

The way in which tomatoes are processed at Greenblend is unique in the market. Greenblend uses only the best Dutch tomatoes, grown with care and to the highest quality standards. The blends are all natural and contain no artificial additives.

In partnership with Harvest House, they plan to manufacture other products from the blend, including various salsas, soups and sauces. "By using tomatoes that were selected on grounds of taste and doing away with colouring and flavouring agents or preservatives, we can offer added value in the market," explained the promoters. "It is not only an ideal base for healthy and tasty products, but it is also distinctive compared to existing alternatives."
