Morocco has already exported 58% of the tomatoes which it is authorised to ship this 2015/2016 season, according to data published in the latest Horticultural Campaign Monitoring Bulletin, prepared by the Andalusian Council of Agriculture, Fisheries and Rural Development. Thus, to date, the North African country has shipped to European Union (EU) a total of 160,711 tonnes of tomatoes.
Only last month, specifically in the period between 12 and 28 February, Morocco exported 36,326 tonnes of tomatoes, 84% of the total quota assigned for that month. Of this volume, 13,479 tonnes were introduced in Europe in the last week of the month.
