Have you got a winning marketing campaign? If you or someone you know has shown excellence in fresh fruit, vegetable or floral marketing over this past year then it’s time to earn due recognition.

PMA Australia-New Zealand (PMA A-NZ) and Produce Plus are pleased to announce that entries for the fifth annual Marketer of the Year Award are now open.

Celebrating outstanding achievement in the marketing of fresh fruit, vegetables and flowers in Australia and New Zealand, the PMA-Produce Plus Marketer of the Year Award 2016 will be presented at the PMA Fresh Connections conference and trade show in Brisbane on 17-19 May.

The Marketer of the Year Award is open to any individual or team member who has shown excellence in the marketing of fresh fruit, vegetables or flowers in Australia or New Zealand in the past year.

Nominees can be from any part of the value chain – whether it be a seed producer marketing its offering to growers, a packaging company marketing its solutions to distributors, or a retailer marketing its products to consumers.

Independent greengrocer chain Harris Farm Markets – led by co-CEO Tristan Harris – won last year’s Marketer of the Year Award for the Imperfect Picks campaign, billed as Australia’s first-ever food waste reduction ‘ugly fruit’ marketing campaign.

Previous winners include OneHarvest for the launch of its Love Beets range (2014), Lisa Cork for her ‘Love Kumara’ rebranding project for Delta Produce (2013), and Sarah McRae at Freshmax NZ for her marketing of the Mahana Red Apple in New Zealand (2012).

Got someone in mind for Marketer of the Year 2016? We’re on the lookout for the most innovative and effective marketers in the fresh produce and floral industries in Australia and New Zealand, so get your entries in today.

“This is a fantastic opportunity for industry members to gain industry-wide recognition, not only for their businesses, but for their personal efforts,” said Michael Worthington, CEO of PMA A-NZ.

“Marketing plays such a vital role throughout the fresh produce and floral supply chain and we’ve enjoyed covering some excellent examples of marketing in Produce Plus over this past year,” said Gabrielle Easter, Editor of Produce Plus. “Competition for this award has been increasing each year and we’re looking forward to receiving some great nominations for the 2016 Marketer of the Year Award.”
