Peru's Foreign Trade and Tourism Minister Magali Silva reported that as of February 2016, Peru had conducted 13 commercial activities aimed at promoting exports, which is a 10% increase in comparison with the similar period from the year before.
Such progress reflects the participation of nearly 500 Peruvian entrepreneurs, who closed deals worth US$270 million in the said period.
Silva’s portfolio, through Promperu and Peruvian Trade Offices (OCEX), and the private sector have been implementing a national strategic plan aimed at consolidating Peruvian exports' position in international markets.
The sector has worked intensely during the first two months to increase Peru's participation overseas. The quality of Peruvian products is more and more recognized worldwide.
For instance, the participation of Peruvian businessmen at Fruit Logistica and Biofach 2016 fairs in Germany has set a new record, increasing by over 50%.
"For 2016, five trade and prospecting missions are set to be launched in Cuba, Turkey, Paraguay and India," the minister stressed.
