The Federal Service for Veterinary and Phytosanitary Supervision of Russia has banned the import of sweet peppers and pomegranates from Turkey, as reported by the institution. The reason for this has been the alleged "systematic" supply of contaminated products.

Only shipments of these products made up to 17 March will be admitted into Russia's market, after approval has been granted following laboratory controls.

This temporary measure covers both direct imports and imports by third parties.
