On Tuesday 22 March, 770 pounds of marijuana hidden in a commercial broccoli shipment, was seized by officers at the Pharr International Bridge.
U.S. Customs and Border Protection officers referred the tractor-trailer hauling the produce shipment to secondary inspection on Tuesday upon its arrival from Mexico, according to an agency news release.
Following an examination of the tractor-trailer, officers discovered 661 packages of marijuana hidden within the vegetable shipment. The packages weighed about 766 pounds.
Customs and Border Protection seized the marijuana and tractor-trailer. The case remains under investigation.
