Core Tip: Umamix bold fits perfectly in with the current flavour trends in Europe and the USA market.
Israel-based company Salt of the Earth has introduced Umamix Bold, which is an all-natural ingredient developed to reduce sodium, as well as to enhance flavour.

Umamix Bold, which is a new addition to the company's Umamix line, is designed for a wide range of food applications in the food manufacturing and food service industries.

The new all-natural ingredient is comprised of a combination of sea salt, mushroom and seaweed extracts, and tomato concentrate.

It also helps remove the use of monosodium glutamate (MSG) in savoury food items.

Umamix Bold is a non-geneticall modified organism (GMO), MSG-free ingredient that does not contain any artificial preservatives, colours or e-numbers, thereby supporting companies to supply healthier products.

Salt of the Earth marketing manager Revital Ben Shachar said: "Consumers are aware of the World Health Organization's (WHO's) call to reduce sodium and, at the same time, they demand cleaner products with natural positioning."

A trial conducted with an Israeli processed meat company revealed that replacing salt with Umamix Bold in sausages can not only enhance flavour and improve its taste, but can reduce sodium levels by up to 30%.

Salt of the Earth food service export manager Dror Levy said: "Umamix bold fits perfectly in with the current flavour trends in Europe and the USA market.

"Bold flavours that also deliver health benefits are on the rise. The alluring taste of umamix so favoured in Asian cuisine fits well in new gourmet recipes as well as in processed foods."

Salt of the Earth will launch Umamix Bold in the US market between 21 and 24 May at the NRA show in Chicago.

Operational since 1922, Salt of the Earth has been manufacturing sustainable sea salt solutions for the global food industry.
