FoodLegal will be hosting its half-day ‘Clean-est Labelling and Marketing Strategies’ workshop in Melbourne and Sydney on the 31st May 2016 and the 7th June 2016 respectively.

With enormous pressure placed on food product suppliers and retailers to present products as natural as possible, this workshop will explore how ingredients and substances are required to be declared on labelling.

The workshop focuses on food labelling obligations under the Australia New Zealand Food Standards Code and explores how these can be navigated to present the cleanest version of a product. Of course, without misleading or deceiving consumers in breach of the Australian Consumer Law.

Learn from Charles Fisher, a FoodLegal compliance expert, how best to develop, market and sell your products using clean labelling strategies.

The intensive workshop helps participants answer:

  • What are the tips for simplifying a long ingredients list?
  • When can an ingredient be left off the label?
  • What makes an additive or other substance “natural” or “not artificial”?
  • When does a food substance become a food additive? Or processing aid? Or nutritive substance?
  • What is the most appropriate technological function for a particular substance?
  • How can one use the 5 per cent rule to their advantage?
  • When does one need to declare Genetically Modified ingredients?
  • How can one achieve a clean label without breaching the Australian Consumer Law?
  • What impacts will the new Food Standards Code have on clean labelling issues?

Bonus update on new Country of Origin labelling

FoodLegal Principal Charles Fisher will detail how the new proposed Country of Origin labelling logos can affect your product details.
