A journalist measured and calculated sugar content of 20 kinds of cold drink in the market and found that sugar content of big ice cream of Wall's, Mengniu and Nestle exceeded recommended daily sugar intake of WHO. Sugar content of bulk ice cream including Haagen-Dazs and DQ were not indicated, and the information was not known.
Registration qualification of Holle was suspended
On May 22nd, a journalist learned from Certification and Accrediation Administration of the People’s Republic of China that registration qualification of Holle of AgranaStarkeGmbH for infant formula was suspended. This was the first time that registration qualification of organic imported milk powder was suspended since the implementation of registration of production enterprises of imported infant formula in China in 2 years. More recently, a product of Holle was inspected with enterobacter sakazakii. After the suspension, Holle raise an objection to test results of Heilongjiang on its official website.
9 tons of imported honey from Spain was destroyed in Shandong for 11 times of excessive bacterial colony
On May 24th, a journalist learned from Shandong Entry-Exit Inspection and Quarantine Bureau that 9 tons of imported honey from Spain with value of 56900 euros was destroyed for 11 times of excessive bacterial colony based on national standards. This was the first case of imported honey being destroyed at national port with the maximum weight and value in recent years.
Consumer tips of CFDA about edible preserved fruit
On May 24th, China Food and Drug Administration (CFDA) specially issued consumer tips on edible preserved fruit pointing at the uses of colorant beyond scope and limit during sampling inspection, in order to protect consumer safety. CFDA suggested that consumers should not pursue color of this kind of food overly.
