Old regulations hinder Fiji's exports

According to the Minister for Agriculture, Inia Seruiratu, Fiji cannot bring in raw materials and process it to be exported because of old regulations.
 
Speaking at the 2016 Fiji Business Forum, Seruiratu said this is why they are strengthening acts and regulations.
 
The Minister said they are planning to process and export vegetables such as okra, sweet corn and cocoa.
 
He also highlighted that there is a huge potential in Aquaculture in Fiji but there is a lack of quality feed.
 
Seruiratu said a Feed Bill is about to go into parliament but it is currently undergoing a vetting process in the Solicitor General's office.
